Sapa is a lovely hill station town in Northern Vietnam, located at the altitude of 1600m. Sapa’s climate is moderate and drizzly in summer while chill and foggy in winter. This picturesque region nestled at the foot of Fan Xi Pan Mount is home of a great diversity of ethnic people, including five main groups of Black H'mong, Red Dao, Tay, Zay and Xa Pho. Theses ethnic groups dresses in colorful costumes and have their own customs and traditions. The hiking trail in the Sapa region and its surroundings lead you to discover sublime landscapes and the varied culture of ethnic minorities.

Day 1

Hanoi - Night train to Lao Cai

In the evening, transfer to the Hanoi train station to take the night train to Lao Cai. The train leaves Hanoi around 20:30. You will be in an air-conditioned cabin with soft berths (4 people/ cabin).
 
Day 2

Lao Cai - Sapa - Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho- Lao Chai- Ta Van

Arrival at the Lao Cai train station around 06:30. Our guide and driver waiting to transfer you to Sapa.
Have breakfast at a restaurant in Lao Cai before leaving to Sapa in the private car, air-conditioned. The ride to Sapa is more than 30 km and takes around 1.5 hours to change altitude from 300m to 1600m.
Arrival in Sapa, you begin the day hiking along the Muong Hoa valley. The first stop is Cat Cat village, 3 km from the town center, home of H'mong people. You will have a good and beautiful view of the valley with the mountains and the terraced rice fields. You will contemplate houses on stilts and meet some of the local minority people.
You continue the walk to the Y Linh Ho village through terraced rice paddies. Then passe the rice fields belong the Hoang Lien Mountain range.
Enjoy a picnic lunch
After lunch, you walk down through the Black H'mong village of Lao Chai.
Arrival at the Dzays village of Ta Van nested in the beautiful valley of Muong Hoa. It’s interesting time for you to discover the local life of a Dzay family (one of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam) by having dinner and talking with them.
Overnight at homestay in Ta Van village.  
Day 3

Ta Van village - Giang Ta Chai village - Sapa

Following breakfast we hike to the Giang Ta Chai village – the village of Red Daos people located next to a waterfall.
The path passes through the bamboo forest and the terraced rice fields.
You will meet some of Daos  people and discover the local life.
Drive back to Sapa by car in the late afternoon.

Day 4

Sapa free time - Sin Chai village - Lao Cai. Night train to Ha Noi

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning is free at you leisure for rest or discovering of the romantic small town of Sapa: the market, the church etc...
In the afternoon, transfer southwest from Sapa to the Sin Chai village - home of Black H'mong people. From there, you will walk along a small path leading to the end of the village, you will see traditional houses, terraced rice fields and meet local people.
Around 16:00, you take the road to Lao Cai station.
Have diner in a local restaurant close to the train station.
You spend the night aboard the train, in an air-conditioned cabin with soft berths (4 persons / cabin).
 
Day 5

Ha Noi

Arrival at the Hanoi train station around 5:30 am. Your guide waiting to transfer you to your hotel. End of tour.
